by Blitzwing Transformers Animated series is the latest show and line that is being churned out by Hasbro. It features characters drawn in such a way to make it more appealing to a more younger audience. This is due to their appearance being more cartoonish and has drawn the ire of a lot of fans including myself.
First and foremost this figure is a PRE-PRODUCTION SAMPLE owned by Wildstar. This line hasn’t been released yet. So don’t bother me or him asking where he got it. This is a chance to see in detail this figure up close only here in Cybertron Philippines. When I got this figure, it didn’t have any card and the instruction sheet was photocopied.
To be honest it’s a bit tough doin’ the review. As I mentioned before, I’m not exactly a fan of the series or the toy line since I prefer the more serious looking bots compared to the cartoony ones in this line. To do a good review I need to take out my biases on the line and be a different person so as the review to be objective as possible.
TRUCK MODE
Now, in this series Optimus Prime is a leader of a small band of autobots doing maintenance work which includes Ratchet, Prowl, Bulkhead and Bumblebee. In this toy, he transforms into his Cybertronian mode, a half-track semi Truck. I really dig the futuristic look of the truck but I’m not a fan of the truck being a half track. It would have been nice if he has wheels rather than this since tracks limit’s its top speed. And the track lacks detail. Just like his other incarnations, he sports a red, blue and yellow color scheme. His legs doesn’t lock to each other in place but is sturdy enough not to drag or flail around when you roll him on the floor.

BOT MODE
His bot mode is pretty cool. It is well articulated. His weapon is his axe that was tucked between the legs ala 08 Camaro bee but what is really holding it in place when he is in truck mode is his two hands which I find a bit unconventional. His roof turns into a shield and makes him bad azz. In this toy his mouth isn’t covered.

Although he doesn’t have a rifle. The smokestacks can be a ranged weapon ala G1 Hot Rod. But what really rocks in this figure is that there are 3 different configurations to his axe. Configuration 1 is the fireman’s axe in which one side is a hammer and the other is the blade. Configuration 2 is the double bladed battle axe. You can do this by folding out the blades in configuration 1 and hide the hammer by folding it down. Configuration 3 is when you fold back the blades together in Configuration 1, fold in the hammer down then attach the shield to it. The shield can extend sideways so as you can attach into the space, the axe.

Funshots
Kick test....PASSED! Although I had a hard time balancing him because the foot is slightly slanted.

This is really a nice toy. Very poseable and very gimmicky especially the axe.
PROS
1. Artiuculated 2. Gimmicky weapons 3. Very Optimus in terms of color scheme
CONS
1. Half Track vehicle mode which doesn't even have much details even 2. Could have added a rifle
I give this a 1/2 out of ![[image]](http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/smartalecblog/forum%20smilies/optimus.gif)
