Season 6 ended with SKY Bear being the runnerup for the Division 2 MVP and the Continental Omtal Cup. The Filcosplay Freelancers XP got the silver in the Division 2 league and was promoted to the quiet Division 1. Hence, SKY Bear and fellow XP'er Kero Chan decided to try out the Free Agency. A lot of teams expressed interested and various offers were made including a very tempting CDP contract. A days passed and finally, SKY Bear joined the Negros Slashers together with Kero Chan. The Negros Slashers also became the Div 2 team of the ex-ppl Cogeo Tar Heels core reinforced by Doc. Jeff's Dau Tollgates. Negros Slashers became a strong contender (on paper :p). As today's first game vs a CPU team, the Slashers is still trying to find out if we're a team that only looks good on paper, or are we a real competitive team? Come and check us out at cyberdunk.com. Good luck to all the teams in Division 2!

Typhoon Frank may have left the Philippines and it left us with devastating memories. Cebu experienced 2 days of continuous rain last June 19/20 to announce Frank's arrival. It was fortunate that the flights to Manila were not cancelled on the 21st. Because of that I was able to attend the Transformers Animated Toy Launch. I returned that same day when Frank decided to visit Manila. I took the 7pm flight back to Cebu in a nick of time otherwise I would have been stranded in Manila for a night... whew... Last June 26, I boarded a Cathay Pacific flight to the land of cheap and abundant toys... nope, not Japan, but Hong Kong. Lo and behold, typhoon "Fengshan" was wrecking havoc earlier that day. We did able to make a landing and rains stopped for a bit... Just enough for me to go to my hotel, have dinner, and drop by TRU... Then rain poured again when I was less than 50 meters from my hotel... yeah, its a bummer... But thats what I call dodging typhoons.
Another skill I learned on my stay in Hong Kong was how to dodge umbrellas.. yep, those spikes from umbrellas of various heights. It continued to rain after Fengshan and people would naturally bring their trusty umbrellas while walking the streets. You'd suddenly encounter an incoming spike so you'd have to be quick to decide to duck, move left, or move right to avoid being hit. Others were kind enough to raise their umbrellas to avoid anyone getting hit.
It was fun dodging all those umbrellas... and hopefully the typhoons wont be following me anymore...
The first thing to greet the crowd in the Philippine Launch of the Transformers Animated Toys is the elaborate display of toy and collectibles by the Cybertron Philippines members and moderators.

Its day 32 and the Filcosplay Freelancers XP came off with a big win over the South Wisconsin Islanders 241-26 in the Continental OmTal Cup. The competition in Philippine Division 2 is heating up as teams scramble to look for additions to reinforce their lineup in the hopes of climbing up the leaders table. Whereas Skybear is still leading the MVP race despite two awful games where he was limited to single digit production. Both Kero Chan and SKY Bear of the XP are the running scoring leaders in the division. Its anybody's ball game as evidenced in our last two league games against De Lasalle Green Archers and Los Banos Devils. Despite having 3 players over 60, they fell short when their main guns got tired in the 4th quarter giving XP a narrow escape. Los Banos Devils nearly staged an upset but failed to contain XP's Chico Martinez. Filcosplay Freelancers XP remains the only unbeaten team in Phil Division 2 and teams are gearing up to have the prestige of being the first to give us that 1 in the L column. If you havent heard about cyberdunk.com, then you are missing an interesting season.
Anarchy at Avalon League Game, Day: 11, Season: 6 Cyberdunk.com Philippines Division 2 Box Score | Full Play-By-Play The Unlimited Blade Works Arena was host to one of the most anticipated match-ups in Philippine Division 2 history as the veteran club, the Filcosplay Freelancers XP, dueled it out with the Avalon Archers, a fledgling franchise that turned heads with their spectacular wins against some of the toughest teams in the division. Both teams entered the game with a pristine 3-0 record despite facing some of the best teams of the division early: the Freelancers XP took on the Dau Tollgates and the Ivalice Blades while the Archers battled the Boracay Whitesands and the Ong Outlaws. Now, both teams put their record and their pride on the line in a contest that promises to be one of the defining matches of the season. Pre-game Analysis Although the Freelancers XP team appears to be the favorite, the Avalon Archers have proven their tenacity on and off the court. The Archers are led by Jerick Don San Juan, who won two championship rings with the Seattle Mariners, Koinzell Ascheriit, last season’s Division 5 MVP while playing for the Bear Na Babes, and the rookie sensation known as The Biggest Pg in the World who averages just above 35 points a game and literally towers over everyone else in his position. Managed by coach16, the Avalon Archers have become a dominant force in Division 2 Philippine basketball. The Freelancers XP are no slouches either, however. Led by franchise player Kero Chan who won back-to-back MVP awards, SKY Bear, a sharpshooter who averages an astounding 40.6 points a game, and Ichigo Mashimaro, a relative unknown from the Iberic league who has made waves ever since landing on Philippine soil. The Freelancers XP garnered three championship rings in three consecutive seasons, but has not faced stiff competition, raising questions as to their effectiveness in this season’s competitive Division 2. First Quarter Both teams struggled with each other’s stifling defense as they engaged in a grueling chess match. San Juan took the ball hard against the twin towers of Domon and Chan, scoring 12 points for his club, while Reyes and Biggest Pg tried to shackle Bear and Ray in the back court. Although their front court struggled, the Freelancers XP back court combined for 26 points, giving them a slight edge after the opening quarter with a score of 32-28. Second Quarter In the second, the Biggest Pg and Ascheriit were the top scorers for Avalon, combining for 24 points, but Freelancer XP’s own Chan and Mashimaro led their own assault for a combined score of 34 points, forcing shots against their defenders at every opportunity. With frustrations mounting, Chan and Mashimaro managed to foul out their defenders, Ascheriit and Tchalla before the end of the half – a costly loss that would prove crucial in the final minutes. “That was bull!” Ascheriit exclaimed as he stormed off the court. “I’ve never seen so many elbows, knees, and other flying body parts! Don’t the officials know how to call an offensive foul when they see one?!” At the end of the half, the Freelancers XP managed to extend their lead to 68-59, still clinging on to a single-digit lead despite solid performances from their stars. To add to their woes, Prime and Domon were in serious foul trouble - both players a mere foul away from being taken out of the game. Third Quarter Out of the locker room, Stratos, Santos, Verlasco, and Malone orchestrated an aggressive offense that not only took Prime and Domon out of the equation, but also had them outscoring the Freelancers XP 31-26, cutting the lead to just two baskets with less than two minutes remaining in the quarter. With their backs to the wall and without their premier defenders, Mashimaro exploded with 8 straight points to pull the Freelancers XP ahead to the tune of 102-92 before the quarter closed. The question remained, however, if the Freelancers XP team could stave off Avalon’s offense without Prime and Domon. “I knew I had to put them on the defensive with Prime and Domon down for the count,” Mashimaro remarked at a post-game interview. “When the shots kept on falling in, it felt unreal – like the hoop was the size of an enormous piñata.” Fourth Quarter Filcosplay XP, without Prime and Domon, was getting hammered inside. Malone was winning the psychological battle with Chan, baiting him into fouls and effectively keeping him off-balanced until Chan ultimately lost his composure and committed a blatant foul that got him ejected from the game. “That was utter kaka!” Chan exclaimed as he stepped off the court making not-so-friendly gestures while doing so. “Malone pulled out every low blow in the book and was getting away with it! The officials need to get their eyes examined!” Despite their woes in the post, Filcosplay XP’s backcourt did some serious damage with some crucial plays. Although Bear was only able to hit three baskets, Mashimaro and Amuro combined for 28 points. Geist also drew blood with 8 points of her own while silencing almost all of the Archer’s shooters with the exception of Biggest Pg who scored 12 points in the final quarter. When the final buzzer sounded, Filcosplay XP managed to extend their lead and win convincingly with a final score of 146-116. Post-game Analysis Perhaps the toughest match for the Freelancers XP so far this season, the Archers managed to dominate the paint while keeping Optimus, Domon, and Chan off-balanced, but the Freelancers XP simply out-shot the Archers with their impressive back court players and exceptional performances from Mashimaro, Bear, and Ray. Although both clubs shot exceptionally well from the court, Filcosplay XP had a slight advantage, sinking 48 of their 66 attempts (72.7%) while the Archers sank only 41 of their 60 attempts (68.3%). Freelancers XP pressured the ball much more aggressively as well, securing 45 steals to the Archer’s 36 steals, with 17 of those steals collected by Ray. Filcosplay XP had slightly better blocking, rejecting 9 baskets while the Archers had 7 blocks. The Archer’s crashed the boards more successfully, however, securing 16 rebounds to Filcosplay XP’s 12 boards. Mashimaro took home the MOM honors with 51 points, 3 steals, 12 assists, and 1 rebound.

Season 5 of Cyberdunk is coming to an end (well, more like it ended). It was a great run. Skybear joining the Juniors National Squad also had a great run. The Philippines could have been in the quarterly final if we made it past Israel. Season 6 of Cyberdunk.com looks promising. For starters, the Filcosplay Freelancers would be promoted to Division 2. And a lot of human teams, strong teams, are present in Division 2. Hopefully that would make the division exciting. Before the month of April ends, here is also a video to promote cyberdunk. Hope the start of season 6 would be bug free... hehe :D

SKY Bear's 1st ever quad double came on day 48 of season 5. It was against Sweden Division 1's Valkyrie's Einherjat. SKY Bear had 24 points from 10/15 shooting and 4/4 free throws, 13 steals, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds from 48 minutes of play. A truly wonderful feat by a fantastic player. But alas, this was only a friendly game <bummber>, hence, its not counted as an official stat. Thankfully, that didnt discourage my player and SKY Bear continued to play his best on the next game. And he was rewarded beautifully. It became his first back-to-back quadruple double game. On Day 49 of Season 5, the Filcosplay Freelancers XP was against Dipolog Sundown. SKY Bear had 28 points on 8/15 shooting and 12/12 free throws, 11 steals, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in 48 minutes of play. He also managed to foul out 2 shooting guards of the opposing team. Cyberdunk.com will continue to see SKY Bear and the Filcosplay Freelancers XP rise up the ranks as the season comes to an end.
Let's see how well you know Cobra, the evil organization that wants to rule the world...
Yo Joe!
